Need help? 1800 AFRICA (1800 237 422)

Hi Yvonne

After a few days now into our return from Africa and coming down from such a high generated from the experiences we had as a family, we would like to say a very big thank you.

The fantastic effort you put into the assistance, planning and guidance of our trip was noticeable before we left, however the stand out is when all the flight details, connection of transfers between accommodation etc went so seamlessly then it becomes apparent of the level of detail you conveyed within the coordination of our holiday.

Again thank you.

Hi Nikki,

A huge thank you for organizing and delivering such an incredible trip to Kenya - Everything was absolutely perfect and so excellent! From the wonderful accommodation, amazing hospitality, great food, and outstanding drivers / guides, it was a brilliant safari and I speak for all my family and friends who attended in saying it was the trip of a lifetime, so thank you so very much, everybody cannot speak highly enough of the entire safari.

The wedding itself was amazing, certainly everything I hoped it would be! The staff at Ashnil were wonderful and delivered a fantastic event that exceeded my expectations. Please find attached a few candid photos from the wedding day - I don't have the professional shots back yet, but as you can see, it was a great day!

Thanks again Nikki, for all your amazing work putting this phenomenal trip together, I could not be happier.

Have a very happy new year;
Best Regards;

Hi Nikki

I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to send these photos. Hope you like them. All were taken in the wild. (There are many, many more)! It was such a privilege to visit the countries we did, enjoy the culture, chat to the locals, taste the food and most importantly for me, to photograph my heart out with an abundance of wonderful creatures.

Our guides were excellent - Joseph Lubega in Uganda deserves special mention. All the hotel staff were so very polite and very helpful. It really was the best trip and we all feel it was one of those 'once in a lifetime ones'.Thank you so very much for all you did to make this holiday (mind you, an exhausting one!) so special for the 3 of us. There were so many highlights, often many in a day! Such a vast difference to our lives here. So it is really hard to pick the best but the gorillas and chimps were simply amazing...fabulous.We will definitely recommend your company.

Thanks again Nikki.

Kind regards

Thank you for all your hard work in the organisation of what was an amazing holiday!  The driving was amazing and South Africa surprised me with its landscape, at times it felt as though we were driving through Europe or America with the pine trees and rolling hills…

Our top five highlights were seeing a lion kill on our first game drive,  (Marakele) accommodation, the staff and its spectacular backdrop and our guide racing past giraffe, hippo, rhino, impala and guinea fowl to try and see a leopard! Having a herd of elephants trumpet right past our room..., following a mother lion and its very young baby cub along the road and her picking it up in her mouth and looking at us, and Brendan and Mark’s BBQ in Swaziland…

Mlilwane was lovely and simple and it was nice to go for a hike and stand on top of summit point. The wildlife wondering peacefully! Spectacular…

Also in regards to Sibani, we thought that this place was gorgeous, we saw the most amount of ostrich here. The owners and staff were so nice…

Lots of great memories made and laughs along the way. Spectacular photos. Fantastic weather.Adele, Mark, Lachie and Cami Dalton

Hi Lenka,We certainly had the best time ever!We absolutely loved the first week in the Isimangaliso. What a treasure that place is. St Lucia is the most beautiful town and made for tourism.  I couldn't recommend the B and B we stayed in highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt like we were leaving our family when we left after just two nights! We did some self drive game drives along the Eastern and Western shores and saw far more animals than we ever imagined we would.  We also did a hippo and croc cruise where we all fell in love with hippos...We did the canoe trip and forest walk which was included. Then we also did a boat trip on the interlinking lake systems. It is such a pretty area. The highlights here (beside the location) would have to be the bathrooms and the food. Then we went onto Tembe …We had great elephant encounters and loved the canvas rooms.  On our very last game drive here we were lucky enough to see a lion take down a Nyala at the hide. Its three nearly fully grown cubs then came in to eat it.  An amazing finish!...We then went on to Swaziland. Our beehives were very cute to stay in. Warthogs shared the fire at night and a Nyala tried to steal our lunch!  It is a very picturesque country.Kruger was incredible…The lodge is beautiful on the dry sand river, the food was absolutely amazing and the staff all lovely.  It was so nice to stay in the park and be a little ahead of the public on the roads each morning and have them to ourselves at night.(Marakele) is stunning. The backdrop of the mountains was absolutely lovely and the food delicious. We loved the boat on the first night. It was a good change after a long drive…Sun City was a good change for everyone. The kids loved the water slides and the big boys loved the golf. The driving was so much fun. We were really pleased that you convinced us to self drive in the end. I think it helped us to experience the real Africa that little bit more and gave us a lot more freedom…Overall everything went really well. The little problems that we had were minor and after experiencing Africa I imagine that they are simple things that were "lost in translation"!Thank you so much for all of your hard work to book it for us. I think we have all fallen in love with Africa and I hope that we can book our future trips with you as well.Tracey Baker

Dear Nikki,

We arrived home last night, but I wanted you to receive this email ASAP.WOW, we had a ball, your organising was fantastic everything ran like clockwork, saw amazing sights...We were blown away with the animals at Kapama Reserve and of course Victoria Falls. Our accommodation was great, The Portswood was  ideal for 2 females, so close to the V & A, we felt comfortable walking around this area, and going out at night for dinner. The peace de resistance was Kapama and Victoria Falls. We were upgraded at Victoria Falls and very spoilt.Thank you very much for your expertise and care in arranging our very memorable holiday.Regards, Marian (Dobell)

Hi guys,

I just thought I'd write you a note to say thanks very much for your help in organising my recent trip to Africa.

Everything went off without a hitch and both my Mum and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Mum had some pretty high (and unrealistic) expectations of what we would see (leopard up a tree, baby elephant having a mud bath, a giraffe drinking etc, etc) but miraculously we saw all that and more!

So thanks again for a wonderful trip, I'll definitely be recommending you to anyone planning a trip to Africa.

Dear Patrick and Daniel,

We have returned from the most fantastic trip of a life time. It was absolutely amazing. The accommodation was brilliant, food superb and every scheduled pickup, whether at the airport or hotel, worked perfectly. Everyone was where they had to be on time. Thank you again for organising this wonder trip. We are still pinching ourselves that we actually were in Africa. And we did see the BIG 5 plus hundreds more. Thank you and This is Africa for an amazing holiday.

Sincere thanks, Roe and Chuck

Hi to all at This is Africa, Jade Sally Lenka and Daniel,Thank you , we had a fabulous trip. Everything was perfect, all accommodation, food, transfers, flights went without a hitch. We loved Cape Town, and the Garden Route, our driver/ guide was very knowledgeable, (I know that is his job, but went beyond what was expected). Lovely country. Absolutely adored the Garden Route Game Reserve. was fabulous. Then up to Makutsi,  WOW,  even more special, saw all the animals on our drives. Loved the property, dining was excellent, hippo pool great, and the family who owned were very enthusiastic and efficient at all aspects of running a Game Lodge. Staff were all wonderful.  Would definitely recommend to anyone. Side trips to Blyd and Kruger perfect also.Loved our trip up to Victoria Falls, did the helicopter flight, and the walking track around. All perfect once again. Bomo dinner and Zambezi river trip excellent.A big thank you to all, without your knowledge and expertise on South Africa and Africa, we are sure it would not have been such a memorable trip for us.  All properties we stayed in were very well run establishments, and  service and breakfasts as expected.Rregards and thanksJanette & Lindsay

Dear PatrickWell, what can I say?  Our trip to Southern Africa was absolutely BRILLIANT!!  Everything went so smoothly, there were no hiccups.  Every single guide or transfer driver turned up when and where he was supposed to. At no point did we feel either stranded or threatened.  We couldn’t have been looked after better – by everyone.  We found the African people to be just lovely – happy and friendly and helpful.  All our guides were very well informed and were keen to impart all their local knowledge.  It was just one amazing experience after another, and just when we thought it couldn’t get any better – it did!  And we loved everything we saw.  We had an absolutely wonderful time and reckon that it is the BEST trip that we have EVER done! Thanks to Jodi for her recommendation to stay at Franschhoek – we loved it and thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing time there...The Garden Route tour was full of interesting things to do (I had been afraid it might be a bit boring) – the elephant interaction, the ostrich farm, the whale-watching trip, the dolphins and seals, and the oyster cruise; and we thought the scenery was stunning. The safari lodges were all magnificent.  We lived in total luxury, no detail had been overlooked, and the staff were eager to do whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable.  Our game drives were incredible – we saw all the Big Five in the first day, and many more animals besides.  The animal sightings left us breathless.  We were even lucky enough to see a kill – a pride of lions had killed a zebra – and whilst this was really horrific and extremely sad, it is nevertheless Nature which is what we had come to see.The cruise on the Zambezi Queen was a perfect way to end our trip...Here again, the staff were fantastic and did everything possible to make our stay a wonderful experience.  The water-based game drives were terrific, and gave us the opportunity to see different animals.  We also had an interesting tour of a small village on the Namibian side called iJambwe.Patrick, I can’t thank you enough for putting together such a wonderful trip!...There was so much variation in what we did and saw – the train trip, the city tour, the Garden Route, all the safaris, Victoria Falls, and then ending up with the wonderful cruise.  We started and ended with luxury, and there was a fair amount of luxury in between.I would be more than happy to recommend your services to anyone wanting to do a tour of Africa.  Thank you again.Kind regards, Valerie

Dear Patrick,

We would just like to let you know that we had a fantastic time in Africa.

We loved Cape Town, the hotel and tours you organised were great, and on our free day we went down to Cape Point.

Marataba was such a wonderful experience!!.

As walkers, we truly enjoyed the trails and learning about the animals and how they interact with each other from our great guides. The staff were so warm and friendly, the food amazing and the view from our room just breathtaking.

The Safari Lodge was just the perfect way to relax and soak up the whole experience and be truly spoilt. Everything and everyone from the room, the service, the food, the view, just the whole package made it a very special time for us and left us with many happy memories.

All the transfers and flights went smoothly and our driver Judas, from Marataba to Kuthaba was great.

Our family wedding at Kuthaba was wonderful.

Our Soweto tour in Johannesburg coupled with our Robben Island tour, and a visit to the Apartheid Museum which we also managed to fit in, gave us new insight to how life in South Africa was.

So all in all Patrick, we just want to thank you and your staff so much for organising such a wonderful holiday for us. We know it is just a snapshot of Africa but for us it just such a perfect one.

Hi Jade,

We have just returned from our trip and had a great time. Everything worked out well and we all had a fabulous experience. Many thanks to you and the team at This Is Africa. We promised you a picture of a lion cub so I have attached one here. This little guy was part of a pride of about 11 lions we spent some time with. We saw so many animals and birds - it was truly amazing. I of course have hundreds of photos and will whittle them down to a manageable number over the coming weeks.

The lodges and staff were excellent. I would recommend them to anyone who wanted a Botswana trip.

Once again, thanks to you and ALL the team,

We both think that it is the best overseas holiday we have ever had.

Both Margaret and I could not have been more pleased.

Thanks for organising a great holiday. We have been passing on your company's name to those that we have spoken to about our trip.

Hi Jodi,

A belated but nonetheless big thank you for organising my Africa trip. It was fabulous.Everything was exactly as you'd prepared and all your recommendations were spot on.
The Kichwa Tembo camp was, as you predicted, absolutely stunning and the wildlife phenomenal. The hot air balloon trip was particularly fantastic! The ATC trip - whilst perhaps not as luxurious (!) as our first few days, was also fab. Friendly and knowledgeable tour guides and well organised trips. Thanks for all your hard work booking everything in for me. It was very much appreciated.Hope all is well in Sydney.Cheers,

Dear Jodi,

Diane and I are home again after a fabulous trip to South Africa and as promised this is a follow up for you.

All the arrangements and connections went very smoothly, thank you very much, and the hotels in Cape Town and Johannesburg were perfectly located and really comfortable.

We enjoyed the Garden Route Tour, although there was a lot of driving, but we learnt an enormous amount about South Africa generally and saw heaps.

We particularly enjoyed the Garden Route Game Lodge but would have liked a second night there.

We loved our time at Makutsi. Saw lots of game, including the big five plus a hippo and her baby in the swimming pool - very memorable. The owners and staff were also wonderful.  We would have no hesitation recommending Makutsi to others.

Thank you for all your assistance Jodi.  We especially appreciated the well coordinated travel arrangements that made the trip so enjoyable.

On behalf of both Diane and me,

Sincere thanks,

Wendy (Edwards)

Hi Lenka,

We have returned from our trip to Africa organized by your travel agency.

We all thank you so much for the organization of our trip which went amazingly smoothly.

We had no problems anywhere along the way – everything was booked for us as per your itinerary, with absolutely no mishaps.

We were extremely well cared for every step of the trip.

Our safari drives were amazing and we saw all the big five many times over.

Our drivers were so helpful and willing to please, as well as making sure we saw every African animal or bird etc. that it was possible to see.

We had so many days where our vehicle was packed right beside wild animals eating or resting on the side of the road.

Our drivers had the knowledge to park where elephants would cross the road in front and behind us.

What an experience.

The photography aspect was superb with the drivers always willing to give us a different aspect, or perhaps more time to take the right photo.

So once again, thank you so much for the organization of the trip.

Everything was unbelievably perfect.

We will definitely recommend your trip and itinerary to others.

Hi guys

Sorry for taking so long to write after our return.

What a fantastic holiday right from the rugby match until we stepped on the flight to come home.

The first part of the holiday being just the two of us was probably the most enjoyable - I only say this because we love to travel "on our own".  The Garden Route was just so pretty and the two places we chose to stay were fantastic - Stellandam Bed & Breakfast served the best breakfast on the whole trip - all grown on their property - certainly recommend to anyone.

Did all the tourist things in Cape Town day tour to Cape of Good Hope and Robbin Island also of course Cable Car.  Protea Fire & Ice what a " funky " place - thoroughly enjoyed staying there.

The tour itself absolutely fantastic - was well organised, professional and very well planned.  A mixture of people from our age to single ladies in their 30's.  The tour company we travelled with are very big over in Africa and they just seem to have done their homework and provide  the best of service.  Tour guides were exceptionally nice guys and certainly went beyond their duty. Accommodated tours are certainly the way to go and everywhere we stayed was very clean and really good service.

The highlight of the tour was Etosha National Park - Lions, Cheaters and Leopards are the hardest to find but we saw them all at close viewing. 3 Males and 4 Female lions walked right up to the truck fantastic.  47 Elephants (not a typo) walked into one of the waterholes amazing.

We certainly went at the right time of the year as the rains hadn't started and therefore the animals had to come to the waterholes for water.  Just saw large numbers of every animal in the three parks we visited.

All in all an amazing experience and I described it in emails I sent back as watching a David Attenborough documentary but in reality.  At times we had to pinch ourselves to make sure it was real.

Thanks for all your good work and certainly recommend the tour to others - just remember there is a lot of motoring at times 9 hour days but mostly they are broken up for stops every 2/3 hours - a good time to dose as they are long days up at 5am and dinner at 8pm.

Thank you once again for all the help I get from you guys!

Cheers Pamela and Mervyn

Hi Sally,

Adam and I wanted to thank you and Lenka for organising an amazing trip to South Africa for us. It was very special and your recommendation with regard to visiting Cape Town, Franschhoek and the Kruger region for our safari experience was perfect. We loved every minute and we both said it was our favourite overseas trip to date.

Everything ran smoothly with accommodation, flights and transfers thanks to your and your team. Our accommodation was beautiful! Rattrays on Mala Mala was particularly special. We were treated like a King and Queen for a week and the animal viewing was spectacular, we saw the Big Five within the first day and our personal guide tailored our game drives to our liking each day. We would highly recommend Rattrays to other clients wanting a luxurious safari experience...and the food! My god, did we eat! haha

The city of Cape Town exceeded our expectations. Table Mountain is magnificent, Adam even proposed on top of Table Mountain! The private Peninsular Tour arranged by Table Bay was very relaxing, informative and the scenery was just gorgeous. I could have spent longer in Cape Town. I didn’t know what to expect but we loved every minute and we are both so glad you recommended visiting Cape Town. We really enjoyed the couple of nights in Franschhoek also, some of the restaurants there are fabulous.

Again, thank you so much for organising an unforgettable trip. We appreciate all of your advice, recommendations and your quick response to emails and phone calls while we were organising as we hadn’t left much time to book. We will be recommending This is Africa to all of our friends and family we have told to visit Africa.

Hopefully we will be in touch in the near future to organise another trip to Africa.

Take care,

Hi Michelle,

We are now back home after our African safari. Just touching base to let you know we had a wonderful time. We were really happy with all our accommodations and the variety of them.

Particularly loved Satao Elerai in Amboselli and of course the Giraffe Manor, an amazing experience.

The local operator you used was great and our drivers very knowledgeable and lovely people. We had two drivers - Peter in Kenya and Mike in Tanzania, and we had lots of fun with them both.

Again, thank you for organising it all for us and in particular to Natasha  and Patrick for all their patience in the booking process.

Will recommend This is Africa to any friends interested in travelling to Africa in the future.

Kind Regards,

Hi Patrick
We have just returned from our African holiday and would like to say how much we enjoyed ourselves.  The companies you arranged for our safari tours were excellent.  The guides were well informed and the accommodation was excellent - well located, friendly service, excellent food, and very comfortable rooms.  We would highly recommend the tour.
The Zanzibar accommodation was also excellent with the "Dream of Zanzibar" out of this world.  We have done a lot of travelling and this accommodation would have to rate as one of the best we have ever stayed in - a great way to finish off our holiday.

I would also like to thank you for the service you provided and the advice and assistance you gave - we will certainly recommend your company to any of our friends who might plan to travel to Africa in the future.
